I'm Asim Iqbal, a Project Manager and Game Producer with over 15 years of experience in the game industry. Game development is my passion, and I bring the same enthusiasm to every project that I had when I started my career.
Having worked predominantly with smaller companies, I gained hands-on experience across all aspects of game development. This has equipped me with both technical and artistic skills, making me versatile in roles like production, art direction, and solving technical challenges. As a result, I’ve quickly advanced into senior positions at every company I’ve worked for.
A key achievement was securing a high-profile AAA project with Sony, successfully winning and delivering the project on time. I also led the development of another AAA game concept for Sony, which was nearly greenlit. Additionally, I founded my own company and secured art outsourcing work for a AAA game, delivering it successfully.
My Business Management studies at BCIT Vancouver further strengthened my skills in project management, financial planning, and team leadership, helping me balance creative vision with business goals and manage projects within budget constraints.
I excel at foreseeing challenges, motivating teams, and ensuring projects are delivered on time. While some games haven’t met commercial success, the quality of work I've overseen has always been exceptional. My ability to quickly learn new tools and optimize workflows has consistently ensured high-quality results.
About me
My Journey
My love for gaming started at a young age, and some of my favorite classics, like Mario, Halo, GTA, Far Cry, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Commandos, Caesar, Jagged Alliance, Prince Of Persia, Need For Speed, Assassins Creed and many more. Games didn’t just shape my love for gaming, they ignited a passion for game development which drove me to teach myself 3D art, which became the foundation for my career in the industry.
After kickstarting my career as a 3D artist, I quickly advanced to working on 3D environment modeling and level design. From there, I transitioned to managing art assets and ensuring their seamless integration into game engines. Each step in my journey taught me valuable lessons, allowing me to develop a deep understanding of both the technical and creative aspects of game development.
My progression into leadership roles came naturally, as I guided teams and managed projects across various disciplines. Working for smaller companies allowed me to wear many hats, which gave me hands-on experience with all aspects of game development, from asset creation to team management. Over time, this versatility became one of my strongest assets.
I always strive to learn new tools, techniques, and software that enhance my work. Whether it's mastering the latest technologies or refining my workflow, I constantly seek ways to stay ahead. While I’ve long been familiar with coding concepts and have worked closely with developers, creating documentation for game design, mechanics, and system logic, I’m now looking to dive deeper into coding itself. I wish to build my own games from the ground up.
Even today, my passion for games remains as strong as ever. Lately, I’ve been spending more time playing VR and mobile games, exploring the latest innovations in immersive gameplay and design.
